Will powerful artificial intelligence be so bad?

Right now technologies called AI are highly automated systems not self motivated entities.

One of the biggest obstacles currently facing the technology is that all AI are designed by humans. Our intentions and assumptions inevitably influence the modeling and the data used to build the AI is defined and supplied by humans.

The AI does exactly what it is made to do and when it doesn't that is because of human failure.

Hypothetically though, there may come a time where other techniques could be employed to develop AI. A self trained AI could be given the tools to literally make up it's own mind. Another algorithm might allow an AI to identify and correct bias within it's own system. AI might develop the ability to improve and learn and grow beyond the parameters in which it was created.

What will we see then?

Is it also possible that there may come a time where some form of AI could be a reliable advisor, cutting through the cognitive bias, fallacious thinking and superstition that plague human decision making.

Could AI guide us to a better future?

Could AI help us become better humans?

If you are inspired, spread the inspiration - put it in a story!
